Dr. Frederick W. Baum Dr. Baum grew up outside of Saratoga Springs and is a graduate of the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. He completed a preceptorship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City and continued on to practice at the Park East Animal Hospital in Manhattan. He is the author of several veterinary professional journal articles and coauthored a report of neuraxonal dystrophy in Rottweilers with Cornell neuroanatomist, Alexander Delahunta, which was printed in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Baum has an active interest in One Health, trauma, and emergency medicine. He is the former Executive Director and continues to serve on the Board of Directors of the VIN Foundation in Davis, California. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Ecohealth Alliance in New York City. EcoHealth Alliance leads cutting-edge scientific research into the critical connections between human and wildlife health and delicate ecosystems around the world.

Rick is an avid hiker, runner, and traveler. He lives in Arlington with his wife, Catherine, and daughter, Sarah, with their dogs, cats, and horses.
Veterinarian
Dr. Emily Dowd, BVetMed Dr. Dowd joined the team at Arlington Animal Hospital in 2006. She brings a wealth of expertise in small animal medicine and surgery. Dr. Dowd received her degree from the Royal Veterinary College in London, England and completed small animal medical externships in England, Kenya and throughout the U.S. She is also the co-author of a number of research papers. She practiced small animal medicine in Blissfield, Michigan and Portsmouth, New Hampshire before moving to Vermont. Veterinarian Erin O'Connell Erin holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany and is a credentialed veterinary technician (CVT). She brings a diverse background in animal care and environmental conservation, having worked in Connecticut’s non-profit sector managing volunteers and overseeing animal care departments. With over 15 years of experience as a licensed wildlife rehabilitator specializing in birds, Erin has worked with a wide variety of species, from farm animals to birds of prey. Based in Vermont, Erin shares her home with her partner Martin, their dogs Sadie and Siobhan, and parrot Sammy. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, hiking, and camping. Coming Soon... Practice Manager Nancy Barci Nancy comes from an equine saddle fitting career and brings her love of all four-legged creatures to Arlington Animal Hospital. Her hobbies include endurance riding on her chestnut gelding Reilly, reading, biking, and cooking. She lives with her husband Paul, her Arabian Reilly, two adorable minis Timmy and Jack, a wonderfully spoiled rescue dog and an awesome cat named Hobo Kitty. Receptionist Ashleigh Pitts Ashleigh graduated from SUNY Canton with an Associate's degree in Veterinary Science Technology in 2019 and has been working with AAH for over 8 years. Ashleigh currently works as both a Veterinary Technician and Client Liaison. In addition to caring for the animals that come to the clinic for care, she has a number of animals at home including her rescue beagle Maeve, chihuahua Doja, two cats Benny and Bundy and a flock of free-range chickens. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her partner Joey and creating memories with her family and friends. Coming Soon... Veterinary Technician Chelsey Morrison Chelsey brings over a decade of customer service experience to Arlington Animal Hospital. In addition to her work at the hospital, she also works weekends at the Witches Village Cafe in Greenwich where she resides. On top of two jobs, she is pursuing her associate's degree in veterinary technology at San Juan College. Chelsey is a proud mother of two energetic children, shares her home with a loveable Mastiff Minnie-Moo, she enjoys being outdoors and making the most of every moment with her Family. Coming Soon... Receptionist Tammy Mendoza Tammy joined Arlington Animal Hospital in 2023 bringing over 30 years of customer service experience with her. She and her family moved to Bennington from Alaska 4 years ago to be closer to family. She resides with her husband Thomas, their 2 dogs, Archer and Paisley, along with their 5 cats Jake, Tyson, Sadie, Ruby and Cuda. In her spare time, she enjoys fishing, kayaking and crafting. Coming Soon... Receptionist Molly Smith With 15 years of technician experience in both large and small animal, Molly comes to AAH with a diverse skill set. She runs a goat dairy farm, breeds and sells goats and has 3 dogs and a cat at home. She enjoys spending time with 15-year-old son, Collin. Coming Soon... Veterinary Technician Kim Arnold Kim is a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) who earned her degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Canton and has been practicing since 2009. She brings years of hands-on experience and a deep commitment to animal care. Kim resides on a farm in Hebron, New York with her husband, daughter, and a variety of animals, including horses, dogs, and cats. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, horseback riding, line dancing, and hiking. Coming Soon... Lead Veterinary Technician Jayda Stell-Gulley Jayda was raised on a dairy farm and has cared for a variety of animals over the years. She has both animal care and customer service experience and served as the Activities Director at Bennington Health and Rehab before joining AAH. She resides in White Creek, NY with her Fiancé , her 2 dogs and 4 cats. When not at the hospital she still works on the family farm and enjoys spending time with friends and her animals. Coming Soon... Veterinary Assistant Shelby Atkins Shelby is a newcomer to the veterinary field and has quickly discovered her passion for animal care. She is interested in pursuing her degree in veterinary technology and is eager to grow within the profession. In addition to her veterinary interests, Shelby brings valuable experience from the equestrian world, having worked in stable environments where she cared for horses and assisted with daily operations. Shelby has a deep love for all animals and enjoys getting to know each client's pet. At home, she shares her life with five beloved cats—Bubble, Pacino, Nutmeg, River, and Bear—and her dog, Pepper. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing with her partner, Teo, and spending quality time with her pets. Coming Soon... Veterinary Assistant Paige Wulff Paige joined Arlington Animal Hospital with a strong background in equine care. She holds an Associate Degree in Animal Science with a concentration in Equine Studies from the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill. In addition, she is certified in Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy and Red Light Therapy through the Association of Equine PEMF Professionals. Before transitioning to small animal care, Paige worked as a Barn Manager, where she was responsible for the daily operations of a 25-horse facility. She brings that same dedication and enthusiasm to her role at the hospital, where she enjoys meeting a wide variety of animal species and breeds. A lifelong learner, she values the opportunity to expand her knowledge every day. Outside of work, Paige enjoys hiking, horseback riding, gardening, and working on her truck. Coming Soon... Veterinary Assistant Kayla Willenbring Kayla brings several years of experience to Arlington Animal Hospital, with a background in both veterinary technology and home health care. Her deep compassion for both animals and people shines through in her work, where she is a strong advocate for the wellbeing of her patients. Dedicated to continuous learning, Kayla is always seeking to expand her knowledge and skills. Outside of the hospital, Kayla enjoys spending time outdoors camping, pursuing photography, and making handcrafted soaps. She shares her home with a lively assortment of animals, including horses, dairy goats, three cats, a dog, three axolotls, and a bearded dragon. Coming Soon... Veterinary Technician Isabelle Woodcock Isabelle is currently pursuing her associate degree in Biology at Hudson Valley Community College. A lifelong animal lover and pet owner, she brings hands-on experience in the care of horses, dogs, and cats. Isabelle works part-time while continuing to expand her knowledge and skills in animal care. She is enthusiastic about learning and is dedicated to providing attentive, compassionate support to both patients and their owners. Coming Soon... Veterinary Assistant Shelby Hannan Shelby has been working with animals for over 3 years. She lives in Shaftsbury, VT with her dog Sandy Cheeks, 6 cats, Muppet, Tigger, Link, Jackie Chan, Tilly, and Yoda, 4 guinea pigs, Twitchy, Coffee, Cream and Coco. In her free time she enjoys going to concerts, studying Meteorology, and spending time with her friends and family. She is currently attending college studying Veterinary Technology. Coming Soon...
