Dr. Dowd joined the veterinary team in December 2006. She brings a wealth of expertise in small animal medicine and surgery. Dr. Dowd received her degree from the Royal Veterinary College in London, England, and completed small animal medical externships in England, Virginia, and Kenya, Africa. She is the coauthor of a number of research papers, as well as conducted presentations in developmental biodynamics in dogs. She practiced small animal medicine in Blissfield, Michigan, before becoming staff veterinarian at the VCA Animal Medical Center in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She is joined by her husband, Greg, who is an equine veterinarian, their sons, Sam and Charlie, and daughter, Isla. They share their home with their dog, Hunter, and two cats, Noodle and Smidget.
